A Design Space of Educational Authoring Tools for Augmented Reality

Recently, numerous authoring tools for Augmented Reality (AR) have been proposed, in both industry and academia, with the aim to enable non-expert users, without programming skills, scaffold educational AR activities. This is a promising approach that can democratize learning. However, there no systematic analysis of these emerging regarding what features modalities they offer (RQ1). Furthermore, little known as how support teachers’ needs (RQ2). Following two-fold approach, we first analyzed corpus 21 from academia formulated comprehensive design space four dimensions: (1) workflow, (2) modality, (3) use, (4) content user management. We then two workshops 19 teachers understand their activities existing them. Ultimately, discuss our work researchers designers tools.
